Ever hear your deacon curse while coaching the little league football team? Witness one of the ushers catch an attitude with a cashier in a department store? See the first lady leaving “Martini Mondays” at the club? Catch one of the married men talking about a late night rendezvous with another woman in the church? Guess what, people can see you! We all have seen or heard some things that elicit the cliché, “Didn’t they say they were a Christian?” Read more after the JUMPWe have all heard this phrase at one point in time or another. Whether we said it or it was said about us, Christians are supposed set the example. We are called to display characteristics not only to please God but also to bring others to Christ. Matthew 5:16 says “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (NKJV) Remember that people are watching you! We, as Christians, are always on display for the world to see. Yes, we all mess up and fall short, but we all should be working hard to symbolize and reflect Jesus, who came as our example.
