WATCH: Canton Jones Discuss with Viktory how he gave away 20K!!!! PDF Print E-mail

When I had CaJo on my show a little over a year ago, he mentioned this story.  He didn't go into this level of detail in it though.  This is an incredible testimony IMO.  Being able to trust God enough to give away that much money has to encourage you.

Matthew 6:21 says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart also will be."  This interview should tell you a lot about where CaJo's heart is.

Peep the vid after the jump...

Canton Jones 20k
written by Reid, June 11, 2009
While it is great to hear Canton serving our Lord I don't understand the necessity to pub a video talking about him giving away 20k. I know a guy who in the last year let two guys stay in his house rent free while they tried to get back on their feet. This same guy two weeks ago gave away a 2005 maximum to a guy who couldn't accept a few job offers because he didn't have transportation...gave it away! He could have easily kept it since it would be better on gas than his SUV but found it necessary to give it to someone in need. He didn't need to shoot a video to tell the world he gave away a car. Few people know what he did. That is why though it is great to hear what Canton has done no need to shoot videos talking about it for the world to see and say good job. As quick as we quote the latter parts of Matt 6 (21) we need to remember the first four verses about trumpets blasting to let all know what you have done or what you have given, your reward will be in heaven.

Reid what up?

Thanks for stopping by my site. Thanks for the scripture references. There is so much knowledge found in the sermon on the mount. Good points

Just a few points of clarification....not sure if you watched it or not, but CaJo didn't make this video. Viktory did. He filmed it to chroncile the making of his album and this in particular was the studio session in which they recorded their collab together.

Secondly, I pub it just like I do everything else on this site. I support and love these ministers of the gospel.

Again, thanks for posting fam

Hello Reid,

Thanks for sharing your views. The verses in Chapter 6 had more to do with the heart than the act. There will be times in which great things one does may be broadcast. But does that mean this person did it to bring glory to themselves? Not at all. Testimonies like this are needed as well. They encourage us. Believers also need to be encouraged in knowing that God is faithful to His word, as he was with Canton.

Again, the scripture deals with the heart. Jesus was telling us to make sure that everything we do is done unto Him, and not to be seen of men. But just because you're seen, or just because you give a testimony, that does not mean that person is seeking to bring attention to themselves.

Canton was asked the question, so why should he not answer? He was being interviewed, and as well this was Viktory's video, not Canton's. smilies/smiley.gif

Lets be mindful of that perspective as well.

Thanks again for sharing your views fam.

God bless,

Zee

Mos def fam...appreciate what your doing. I did watch the video and recognized Vik filmed the session. It's great what he did but it just seems it is made a big deal because of the amount of money that he gave away...that's my only problem (if you want to call it a problem) with the taping of it. I'm confident from what I hear from cats he's a solid dude. I guess I would have just look at it different if he just said he helped someone greatly rather than throw a big number out which was going to have people say, "dang, he gave out that much money" and all the discussion that follows it. Again I guess it's not a doctrine issue or an essential to the faith so not a huge biggie, just my opinion from viewing it from the outside. May the Lord continue to be with your ministry and reach souls bro!

Reid: The Dollar Amount
written by DJ Wade-O, June 11, 2009
Why does that bother you? I just think its part of his testimony. And real rap...The fact that he gave that much away when basically that's all he had encouraged me a ton. It's a further testament to just how much God can sustain you when you trust Him. You have to serve a pretty big God if you are able to be sustained after giving away $20K and that was basically all you had.

This is good convo brother...glad you shared your opinion. Iron sharpens iron.

Canton Going to Hell
written by Dustin, June 12, 2009
I think we dont need to be worried about Canton giving away 20,000, we need to be worried about the fact that Canton is on his way to hell because he is following a cult in the Word of Faith movement. His Pastor is one of the biggest heretics on tv and denied that Jesus came perfect, denied that Jesus came as God or was God. Creflo is on his way to hell and Canton will be too if he doesnt repent and come out of that movement and into the truth.

Won't go into a theological debate, but I encourage you to research what they believe for yourself and not what you've heard, or were told. Even if you heard your favorite artist say something.

I've followed their ministry since 1994 and I KNOW that's not what they believe. Trust me. Matter of fact, I've heard them say quite the contrary on numerous occassions.

God bless ya socks off! smilies/wink.gif

Why dollar amount
written by Reid, June 12, 2009
Good points by both Wade O and Dee, It could be viewed as an awesome testimony or display of faith. I just read the title and it said listen to Canton talk to Vik about giving away 20K!!!!! From my impression it was a big deal because it was 20K (by the number of exclamation marks). It's like wow he gave away 20K, he's stepping out on faith. To me it's no different if someone gave away there last 100 bucks to someone. Would a deal be made over that. Dee, I know the context of Matt 6 and it dealing with the heart of a man...that is why I used that scripture because even if asked in an interview you can freely decide not to talk about it or yes, talk about it and tell the same story minus the dollar amounts and still tell how he gave all he had stepping out on faith. By continuing to say it was 20K, others may wonder is he talking about it mainly because of the amount and he want others to know the amount. Again, not saying that's why he is doing but it could easily be the impression that rubs off on others especially since he has connections with Creflo where some say money is so important to that ministry. Good convo.

Dustin, while I don't agree with the movement he is associated with be hesitate in your judgements on who will and will not be going to hell.

Canton is a believer
written by Lamar Gibbs, June 12, 2009
I don't know if you were listening too well, but Canton said he doesn't care about the money. Just because someone went to Creflo's church doesn't mean they are going to hell, and you really need to recognize the difference. It may influence in some way his views(I didn't like the song 24's and never will), but that's what prayer is for. Dustin, operate in a spirit of grace and gentleness and do not assume you know someone just because you know their Pastor. There could be gay people in my church and my pastor is A.R. Bernard, one of the most well known Pastor's who abides by the word of God in every circumstance...so please...chill and speak in wisdom. I don't agree with Creflo either, but don't assume the sheep is always like the shepherd.

Just wondering why my comment wasn't unpublished, but the allegation that Canton and Creflo are going to hell were able to remain?

Please advise.

No Allegatians
written by Dustin, June 13, 2009
Check Creflo's rap sheet. He is a student of Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland. Kenneth Hagin is the founder of the Word of Faith movement. The Word of Faith movement has its beginings in Christian Science, a cult, and others cults. Kenneth Hagin then passed these teachings down to Kenneth Copeland. Kenneth Copeland has taught that Jesus did not come as God, he came as just a man. He was man until he was annointed by the Spirit at his baptism. This is not true. Jesus has and always will be God. He became a man but that diminish the fact that he was God at the same time. Kenneth Copeland has said that Jesus took on the nature of Satan on the cross and then went to Hell and had to be born again. This is completely false. On the cross Jesus died as perfect subistute for sinners, needing to give no further sacrifice. The notion that Jesus went to Hell is blasphemous and insult to his atoning work. The Word of Faith also has a false teaching on the fall of man. They say that man was God and forfitted that right to Satan when Adam sinned. Further they say that when Jesus died, he won back that right for those who are born again. Man was never a god and Adam's sin condemned all of his descendents. Thus Jesus came to bear his people's sins and pay thier just due penalty for them. They also say that faith is a force that you can tap into and use for your own gain. That is false, true faith is in God and Him only and is saving, not for personal gain. Kenneth Hagain and Kenneth Copeland tutored Creflo Dollar. Creflo Dollar preached a sermon in December of 2002 denying that Jesus came perfect. He said that Jesus fell asleep in the back of the boat and it says in the Old Testament that God doesnt fall asleep, so Jesus cant be God. He ignored the fact that while on earth Jesus was a man and was subjected like all men, to getting tired. Probably the most central and most important part in the Christians essentials of the faith is that Jesus is God. Creflo and the Word of Faith movement denies that, that is heresy. Paul said in Galatians 1:8-9 that if anyone preaches another Jesus, let them be accursed. Canton needs to come out of that teaching and into the truth.

I suggest you check out the links and examine the teachings of Creflo and the Word of Faith as a whole. I would love to hear that whole Creflo sermon, because I dont see how anyone can say you need to hear the whole thing. I mean Creflo told you in less than a minute and half what he thinks. He said verbatim, Jesus did not come perfect, he had to move into perfection. He said that God does not sleep or get tired and Jesus had to rest on the well and fell asleep in the back of the boat. He said that for all these years we have accepted what all of these fancy preachers have said. What does he mean by fancy preachers? Those who taught that Jesus came as God and is God. Please examine the links. Send me Creflo's full sermon, my email is \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Thanks to Wade for allowing this dialogue to go on. My prayer is this will be done in love and that we can come with humble hearts and really seek God in this matter. If God is willing, he will give us illumination and let us see the truth.

I'll explain...

In this particular sermon Creflo was trying to prove to people that Jesus was just as much human as he was God - not that he was not God. When it comes to walking in love, performing miracles and living by faith, many people use the excuse by saying "Well, that was Jesus," as if they aren't capable of these same things. They excuse themselves from obtaining to a higher level of spirituality by saying they can't do the things that Jesus did. If you are born-again, you can because the spirit of God lives in you.

Again, email me if you have any questions. I won't be posting back here on this topic again.
